What is a DOULA?

We're Glad that You Asked...

Doula is a Greek word meaning 'a woman who serves'. It is more commonly used today to describe a trained and experienced professional who provides physical, emotional and informational support to the parent(s) before, during and just after birth; or who provides emotional and practical support during the postpartum period. But why stop there? Why not a Doula to help you through your fertility trials, your surrogacy journey, your health and wellness needs or even any circumstance under the sun?  The reason is that everyone who is going through challenges in LIFE needs support. Especially compassionate and caring, one on one support that is hard to find today.  At The LIFE Nest, you will find that everyone is respectful, listens well and is trained to help you see so many more options that you have around you. She acts as a sounding board, confidante, research partner, emotional rock, and, in some cases, spiritual guide. She will be  someone who will strive to help you,  and who has the capacity to support you through  your emotional storms. Here are the descriptions of what each qualified Doula would bring to meet your needs. Although, all the doulas at The LIFE Nest, are trained to go over and above what these guidelines recommended. We tailor our packages to meet each individual's needs.
